Free Cyber Certification for Hertfordshire’s small business!
In 2017 Hertfordshire was one of the most targeted counties in the UK by cyber criminals with over £3million being stolen, the single highest loss was for £1.3m.
A new scheme was launched on Monday 1st April which will see 100 lucky businesses receive a free consultation on their cyber security. Network Integrity Services (NIS) has been approved to provide the Cyber Basics Review (CBR). The CBR has less depth than the Government’s ‘Cyber Essentials’ standard, however for many small businesses, getting the basics right is very important.
The scheme is funded by David Lloyd, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire and operated in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council’s Trading Standards Business team and aims to raise awareness of the importance of cyber security amongst small business.
The Cyber Basics Review (or CBR) is a review of the basic IT security and information management systems and processes that a company or individual has in place. It has significantly less depth than HM Government’s ‘Cyber Essentials’ standard, however for many people and micro businesses, getting the basics right is the most important thing of all.
